Student Pubs

The first thing you will notice when you arrive at Preston is the colour scheme of the pubs.  The Adelphi and Roper Hall (both 'it's a scream' pubs) are bright yellow and use the yellow card scheme which offers great discounts on drinks during the week which means you can get pissed even cheaper - fantastic!  They both do food which is ideal at lunch time when you fancy a quite one and Roper Hall also has its own club above the pub below - the place to be on a wednesday night!

Time Square is directly opposite the student union and again is yellow.  Many of the university sports teams are sponsored by the student owned pub which means wednesdays, after the inter uni matches, the beer is free flowing and the food is provided; as you can imagine it gets quite lively!

The Ship is about 50m from Time Square, believe me you won't miss it - it's purple.  It's just been re-opened after a face lift and is looking better than ever.  Although the beer isn't amazingly cheep you'll find it is a must when it comes to the bar crawls on wednesday night.

For all those Irish lovers amongst you O'Neils is a center piece when it comes to student pubs.  This is a must because it lies half way between the town center and the student union yet is only a five minute walk from The Ship; ideal when you want to work your way into Preston.  On a wednesday night Tokyo Joe's (the main nightclub in Preston) offers a free bus to the club from outside O'Neil's - ideal if cannot walk by this point!!!!!

There are many other pubs in and around the university campus, most of which you will experience in freshers week when you experience the toga runs and organized pub crawls.  You will take in fifteen pubs and in order to complete the run will will have to have a drink in every one - yes that's fifteen drinks!  As you can imagine it turns into ultimate carnage - you have been warned!!!!
